Lecture: Shadows of War: The Combat Operations of the Pinsk Flotilla in 1939 in the Light of Commander Witold Zajączkowski’s Account”

On Tuesday, 28 April, the Katyn Museum hosted a guest lecture by Professor Piotr Semków of the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia as part of the “Shadows of War” lecture series organised by the Jan Karski Institute of War Losses. Professor Semków’s presentation explored the fate of the Pinsk Flotilla during Poland’s defensive campaign of 1939, with particular focus on its commanding officer, Commander Witold Zajączkowski.
Following the lecture, which was also streamed online, participants were invited to take part in a discussion session. The closing remarks were delivered by Dr Bartosz Gondek, Director of the Jan Karski Institute of War Losses.
The lecture series is held under the honorary patronage of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression.
