On 13 April, marking the 85th anniversary of the Katyn massacre, the 17th Katyn Shadow March passed through the streets of Warsaw.
The March Coordinator, Jarosław Wróblewski, thanked all participants for taking part in the commemorative procession and emphasised that people wait all year for this April day in order to pay a living tribute, in the heart of Warsaw and of Poland, to their compatriots murdered in Katyn and across the East by the Soviet regime.
Following the conclusion of the event, a group of historical reenactors visited the Katyn Museum, where they laid a wreath at the Katyn Epitaph.
This year’s Katyn Shadow March was organised by the Institute of National Remembrance and the historical reenactment group Zgrupowanie Radosław Historical Group. The Katyn Museum was a partner of the event.
