Book Launch: “Falerystyka i filatelistyka zza krat 1923–2023”
On 9 June, the Katyn Museum hosted the launch of the book “Falerystyka i filatelistyka zza krat 1923–2023” [in English: Phaleristics and Philately Behind Bars 1923–2023] by Włodzimierz Orlikowski, published by the Central Board of the Prison Service.
The author, Captain of the Prison Service (SW) and President of the Foundation „Historia zza krat – Ocalić od zapomnienia” [in English: “History Behind Bars – To Save from Oblivion”], presented the results of his research into the history of the Polish prison system. The publication features photographs and descriptions of badges and service identity cards. It also includes philatelic themes, such as stamps, envelopes and postcards.
