Dr Izabella Sariusz-Skąpska awarded the honorary title “Creator of the Glory of the Polish Armed Forces”
On 30 May 2026, the Katyn Muzeum hosted the General Assembly of Delegates of the Federation of Katyn Families. The meeting provided an important opportunity to summarise recent activities, reflect on ongoing work, and set priorities for the coming years. Delegates assessed the performance of the Council, the Management Board, and the Audit Committee of the Federation, and defined key objectives for the new term. During the Assembly, Dr Izabella Sariusz-Skąpska was re-elected as President of the Management Board. This decision reflects continued trust in her leadership, experience, and long-standing commitment to the Federation’s mission of commemorating the victims of the Katyn Massacre.
The General Assembly also served as an occasion to honour Dr Sariusz-Skąpska with the honorary title of Creator of the Glory of the Polish Armed Forces. The commemorative diploma, presented on behalf of the Director of the Museum of the Polish Army, was handed over by Sebastian Karwat, Director of the Katyn Museum. This distinction recognises her significant contribution to preserving historical memory and promoting knowledge about one of the most tragic chapters in Polish history.
