The Grand Final Gala of the thematic competition “Katyn Massacre: Memory and Truth” took place at the Katyn Museum in Warsaw. The competition was dedicated to pupils in Years 4–8 from primary schools across the Mazovia region.
The sixth edition of the competition attracted nearly 200 pupils, who took on a challenging set of questions exploring the history and significance of the Katyn Massacre. Eighteen finalists advanced to the final stage, with five participants awarded the prestigious title of laureate.
Awards and commemorative diplomas were presented to the top achievers by Elżbieta Milewska, Deputy Mazovian Superintendent of Education, Sebastian Karwat, Head of the Katyn Museum in Warsaw, and Ewa Księżakowska, Chair of the Regional Competition Committee.
A memorable highlight of the event was a concert performed by the Viva la Musica choir from Primary School No. 23 with Integration Classes, named after the Home Army, in Płock.
Following the ceremony, finalists, together with their parents, guardians and teachers, were invited to visit the Katyn Museum – the House of Katyn Families, providing a meaningful conclusion to this special occasion.
