On 12 November 2023, the Katyn Museum – the Martyrology Branch of the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw hosted the “Katyn All Souls’ Commemoration”.
The event included the launch of the book “Straceni, przywróceni pamięci” (in English: The Executed, Restored to Memory) by Zbigniew Kiełb. The publication commemorates 45 victims of the Katyn Massacre — officers of the Polish Army and officers of the State Police — who were associated with the 2nd Kaniowski Sappers Regiment.
During the meeting, a bust of Wojciech Seweryn (1939–2010), a Polish artist and creator of the Katyn Memorial in Niles, near Chicago (USA), was donated to the collection of the Katyn Museum. The bust was presented by Leonard Szczur, a Polish sculptor and artist working in the United States.
The event was attended by numerous representatives of Katyn Families associations, as well as members of the “Police Family 1939” Association from Katowice, Warsaw and Częstochowa.
