Meeting of the Honorary Committee for the 85th Anniversary of the Katyn Massacre

On 18 February 2025, the Katyn Museum — the martyrdom branch of the Polish Army Museum — hosted a meeting of the Honorary Committee established for the commemorations marking the 85th anniversary of the Katyn Massacre. The Committee was formed on the initiative of Lech Parell.
During the meeting, participants discussed the programme for the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Katyn Massacre, to be held on 13 April, as well as a range of events connected with the Year of the Polish Heroes of Katyn, Kharkiv, Mednoye, Bykivnia and Other Sites, established by the Polish Parliament.
The meeting was attended by representatives of cultural institutions, veterans’ organisations, academic circles and associations of the Katyn Families, including: Izabella Sariusz-Skąpska, President of the Federation of Katyn Families; Lech Parell, Head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression; Prof. Dr Hab. Bogusław Pacek, Director of the Polish Army Museum; Sebastian Karwat, Director of the Katyn Museum; Prof. Dr Hab. Adam Daniel Rotfeld; Zdzisław Sawicki, First Director of the Katyn Museum; Prof. Dr Hab. Marcin Napiórkowski, Director of the Museum of Polish History; Prof. Dr Hab. Rafał Wnuk, Director of the Museum of the Second World War; Dr Hab. Andrzej Kunert; Mirosław Koźlakiewicz; Janusz Komorowski, President of the Main Board of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers; Kordian Borejko, President of the Main Board of the Siberian Deportees Association; Dr Mateusz Zemla; Kazimiera Lange, Chair of the Council of the Federation of Katyn Families.
