Sebastian Karwat, Director of the Katyn Museum, and Dr Bartłomiej Bydon, Head of the Museum’s Research Section, took part in a discussion panel accompanying the opening of the Guardia di Finanza Academy Museum in Bergamo

On 6 February 2025, a delegation from the Katyn Museum attended the inauguration of the Guardia di Finanza Academy Museum in Bergamo, which presents the 250-year history of this prestigious Italian military force. The representatives of the Katyn Museum participated in the ceremonies at the invitation of General Cosimo Di Gesu, Commandant of the Guardia di Finanza Academy, and Lieutenant General Bruno Buratti, Inspector of the Guardia di Finanza’s scientific institutions, who visited the Katyn Museum last year. Deeply moved by the history of the Katyn massacre, General Buratti expressed his wish to share the story of these tragic events with the Italian public.
The museum inauguration was accompanied by a conference and the temporary exhibition The Responsibility of Memory, dedicated to the Katyn massacre. During the event, representatives of the Katyn Museum delivered lectures and conducted a curator-led tour of the exhibition.
