Prison Service Traditions Day

On 7 February 2023, the Prison Service Celebration Day was held at the Katyn Museum in Warsaw, during which officers of the service took an oath. The event aimed to highlight the importance of patriotic values and historical references in everyday service, as well as to encourage recruitment into the Prison Service, promoted as a modern and stable workplace serving the state.
The ceremony began with a wreath-laying at the Katyn Epitaph. This was followed by official speeches and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Katyn Museum – the Martyrdom Division of the Museum of the Polish Army – and the management of the Prison Service. After the formal proceedings, guests, accompanied by the Director of the Museum, Sławomir Z. Frątczak, and Dr Tomasz Szczepański, had the opportunity to visit the museum exhibition.
The event was combined with the launch of a nationwide information campaign promoting recruitment of new candidates to the Prison Service.
