Trainee Warrant Officers from the Central Prison Service Training Centre in Kule Visit the Katyn Museum
On 11–12 and 18–19 October 2023, participants in the professional training programme for warrant officers at the Central Prison Service Training Centre in Kule took part in educational visits to the Katyn Museum. During their visits, the trainees learned about the history of the Katyn Massacre and toured the Museum’s permanent exhibition. They were also given a special presentation of selected objects from the Museum’s collections that are not normally on public display and are connected with officers of the Polish Prison Service. Among the exhibits were artefacts recovered during archaeological and exhumation work carried out at the burial sites of the victims of the Katyn Massacre. The educational visits enabled the participants to broaden their knowledge of the crimes committed by the Soviet Union against the Polish nation. They also provided an opportunity to reflect on the fate of the victims and on the importance of preserving the memory of the Katyn Massacre—a memory that plays a vital role in shaping the historical awareness of future generations.
